The Villas at Safe Harbor is a community of zero-lot-line attached villas and single family homes surrounding a private, protected harbor that opens directly to the Mississippi River. All our homes have views of the harbor and the river. Residents can enjoy watching boat traffic on the river, beautiful sunsets, and the convenience of having their own vessel moored right in front of their home. Although flooding is an occasional occurrence along the Mississippi River, our community is elevated above the flood plain, so flood insurance is not required. We offer a truly unique and relaxing environment for our residents, their families and guests.

WHERE TO FIND US:
The Villas at Safe Harbor community is located just north of East Moline, Illinois in the historic riverfront village of Hampton. We are about 3 hours from downtown Chicago, and minutes from access to Interstate 80. By river, you can find us one mile downstream from Lock and Dam 14, in the 10 mile long Pool 15 of the Mississippi.
THINGS TO DO:
There are many restaurants and attractions that can be reached by boat in Pool 15, as well as quiet areas where you can set a hook and enjoy a quiet afternoon or catch some fish. Auxiliary locks for pleasure craft at Locks 14 and 15 operate between Memorial Day and Labor Day making it easy to navigate through the locks to other pools.
Within walking distance are several parks and recreational venues. Adjacent to Safe Harbor on our land-based side is the Great River Trail, a paved bicycle/ jogging path stretching along the Mississippi River for 12 miles downstream to Rock Island, Illinois, and about 46 miles upstream to Savanna, Illinois. The Mississippi River is one of the great migratory paths for birds and other wildlife. In spring and summer residents can watch as clusters of American white pelicans come to visit our harbor. In the winter, American bald eagles return to fish in the open waters below Lock and Dam 14 and can be seen nesting in the trees along First Avenue.
OUR HARBOR:
Safe Harbor has over 50 slips, each 40’ long by 16’ wide, with water and electrical service. They are among some of the best docking facilities to be found along the Mississippi River. Docks float up and down on steel posts that are embedded into the bottom of the harbor so they are in place year round and are not affected by fluctuating water levels. Each homeowner has exclusive use of the slip that comes with their lot. In addition, there are several guest slips available for guests visiting by boat. Slips can be rented for the season through homeowners who are not using their slip. Our harbor is open for boat mooring from April 1st through October 31st each year.
